As part of The Lyceum Project 2026: Entangled Intelligence, held in Athens, Greece, on June 19–20, a special session on Ancestral Intelligence explored the enduring wisdom of spiritual, philosophical, and cultural traditions in an age of rapidly advancing technology.
Dedicated to themes of compassion, spiritual guidance, and care for one another, the sessin brought together distinguished voices from diverse traditions and perspectives to reflect on the human dimensions of intelligence and innovation.
Among the featured speakers, Fr. John Chryssavgis addressed the spiritual implications of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the indispensable role of human freedom and responsibility, as well as the fundamental interdependence of humanity with the wider created world. His reflections offered a timely reminder that technological advancement must remain grounded in ethical discernment, relationality, and care for creation.
The gathering was further honored by the presence of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, whose participation highlighted the importance of fostering thoughtful dialogue on the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies.
