On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the invitation of Fr. John Chryssavgis and the Huffington Ecumenical Institute at HCHC, Rev. Dr. Dimitrios Linos visited Holy Cross School of Theology. Dr. Linos is Professor Emeritus of Surgery specializing in thyroidectomy at the University of Athens, Lecturer in Surgery at Harvard Medical School, and a member of the editorial committee for the World Journal of Endocrine Surgery.
The focus of discussion between Dr. Linos and Fr. John—along with Rev. Dr. Vassilios Bebis, Orthodox Chaplain at Harvard University and member of the Advisory Council at HEI HCHC—was the need for the creation of a forum for students in Theology and Medicine as well as for practitioners of both disciplines for further exploration of the intersection between medicine and religion as well as the possible creation of an ecumenical course on theology, medicine, and ethics.
