The Huffington Ecumenical Institute at Hellenic College Holy Cross is proud to announce Rev. Dr. Thomas Colyandro as its 2025 Fellowship Recipient.
Rev. Dr. Thomas Colyandro is an Orthodox priest and spiritual counselor, the director of theological and spiritual studies at St. Athanasius College, and the former assistant director of the Center for Faith & Culture at the University of St. Thomas (Houston). He is on the steering committee of the International Orthodox Theological Association (IOTA) Asceticism and Spirituality Group. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Orientale Lumen Foundation. Additionally, he is an editor at Eastern Christian Publications. Fr. Thomas has written and/or edited nine books. He has also written myriad articles on spirituality and theology. He continues to concentrate on his original work regarding the uncreated silence of the Holy Spirit.
Through his fellowship at HCHC/HEI, Fr. Thomas is currently writing a volume titled, Uncreated Silence and Ecumenical Encounter. It will explore the idea of the unspoken speech of the Holy Spirit. This speech can be heard in prayer, discerned in spiritual relationships, and lived as pastoral care. There is a special emphasis on the work of religious dialogue. This idea will be explained using biblical and theological sources. It will also include the spiritual and pastoral works of Orthodox Christian elders. Additionally, studies of contemporary Orthodox Christian leaders in the United States will be used. Studies of non-Orthodox Christian leaders around the world will also be included.
The goal of the Huffington Ecumenical Institute at Hellenic College Holy Cross is to convene prominent theologians and practitioners. They aim to address shared challenges confronting religious communities locally, nationally, and internationally.
