On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, Fr. John Chryssavgis joined a monthly gathering of young adults at St. Filothei Parish in Athens to discuss the social document For the Life of the World. This dynamic group has explored the document’s themes for the past 18 months under the spiritual and theological guidance of their parish priest, Fr. Antonios Kalligeris.
Fr. Antonios, a former director of Youth Ministry for the Archdiocese of Athens and currently serving as the director of Pastoral Ministries to Families, has brought his extensive experience and insights to the discussions. A frequent contributor to the Church of Greece’s Radio Station, he continues to inspire and mentor the group as they delve into the relevance of faith in contemporary society.
The event drew a strong turnout, with a number of people participating online. Fr. John’s participation added depth to the ongoing reflections, offering a unique perspective on the creation of the document and fostering engaging questions from the young adults. The event highlighted the importance of connecting theological principles to everyday life and the role of community in spiritual growth.
