Adalberto Mainardi, formerly a monk of the ecumenical monastery at Bose, Italy, and currently a member of the community of Cellole in Tuscany, Italy, visited the Huffington Ecumenical Institute at HCHC on Monday and Tuesday, June 17–18, 2024, where he met with Fr. John Chryssavgis and visited the Archbishop Iakovos Library.
For many years, Br. Adalberto served as scientific secretary of the International Ecumenical Conferences on Orthodox spirituality. For many years, he participated in the St. Irenaeus Joint Orthodox-Catholic Working Group.
The author of several books and articles as well as translations on Orthodox and ecumenical theology, Br. Adalberto was hosted at Fordham University’s Orthodox Christian Studies Center over the last semester to research archives at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and the Orthodox Church of America, as well as the libraries at Amherst College and St. Vladimir’s Seminary. He is currently completing a doctoral dissertation on the canonical and ecumenical dimensions of the establishment of the OCA.
Discussion at the Huffington Ecumenical Institute at HCHC focused on potential collaboration with various ecumenical communities in Italy as well as with the University of Bologna.
