Memorial Tribute to Archbishop Iakovos, Hellenic College Holy Cross

In person | Online | Recorded | Link to the event: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88956229691
This event marks the 20th anniversary since the passing of Archbishop Iakovos, honoring his legacy as a visionary leader in the Orthodox Church and beyond. As Archbishop of North and South America from 1959 to 1996, Iakovos was courageous and committed to the Orthodox faith, ecumenical dialogue, and social justice. His historic participation in the Selma march alongside the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. symbolized his dedication to human dignity and civil rights.
Hosted and organized by the Huffington Ecumenical Institute at Hellenic College Holy Cross, the event will take place at the Maliotis Cultural Center on the HCHC campus. The program will include panel discussions with HCHC faculty and former coworkers of the late Archbishop, a memorial service at his gravesite, and the premiere screening of a new documentary film on his life and enduring impact.
